Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet any one of the following qualifications to be eligible for the position of Special Judicial Magistrate of II Class:

  • Hold a position in the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service, either retired or resigned.
  • Held a post in the Andhra Pradesh Judicial Ministerial Subordinate Service at a rank not below Superintendent (Category-III of Andhra Pradesh Judicial Ministerial Subordinate Service Rules, 2019) in Andhra Pradesh, possessing a law degree.
  • Held a post of Section Officer or above in the Andhra Pradesh High Court Service with a law degree.
  • Practiced as an advocate for at least five years and is not currently enrolled on the Bar Council rolls.
  • Retired Gazetted Officer with a law degree, who has passed the criminal judicial test (Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023) conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, and has exercised magisterial powers for a minimum of three years during service, preferably a retired Judicial Officer.

Age Limit and Conditions

  • Retired persons who have no more than one and a half years remaining to attain 65 years of age as of the notification date.
