Eligibility Criteria for Application
Educational Qualifications
The qualifications and appointment terms are governed by Schedule ‘E’ of the NIT Statutes (Amended 2017). Candidates must possess:
- For Engineering Disciplines: B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent, M.E./M.Tech. or equivalent, and Ph.D. in relevant disciplines with first class in all degrees. Candidates with direct Ph.D. and first class results are also eligible.
- For Architecture: B.Arch. or equivalent, M.Arch./M.Plan. or equivalent, with specific professional experience and associated Grade Pay for non-Engineering candidates.
- For Non-Engineering Departments: Ph.D. in relevant or equivalent discipline with first class in previous degrees.
Desirable Qualifications
- At least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks where first class is not explicitly awarded.
- Certificates indicating equivalent CGPA conversions if scored on other scales.

Selection Process
The selection process includes:
