Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • M.Sc or M.Tech in Applied Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geology from a recognized university.
  • Graduation with a good academic record.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • The ability to prepare and edit technical documents, articles, and reports.

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with the following will be given preference:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Water Resources, Hydrology, or River Basin Management.
  • Experience in river basin management studies.
  • Experience conducting field surveys.
  • Hydraulic/Hydrological modelling expertise.
  • Proficiency in water and wastewater sample collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of water quality modelling.
  • Remote sensing and GIS knowledge.
  • Coding skills in R, MATLAB, Python, or similar languages.

Component Details
Consolidated Pay Rs. 31,000/- per month

Job Responsibilities

Field Surveys and Data Collection

Performing on-site surveys and gathering relevant data pertaining to the Periyar River Basin.

Condition Assessment of the Periyar River Basin

Assessing the current state and health of the river basin, identifying key issues, and preparing technical assessments.

Hydraulic and Hydrological Modelling & Analysis

Developing and analyzing models to understand water flow, sediment transport, and other hydrodynamic factors.

Water Quality Sampling and Analysis

Collecting water samples from various locations within the basin and analyzing for pollutants and other water quality parameters.

Preparation of Technical Reports & Documentation

Documenting research findings, preparing technical reports, and contributing to project documentation.

GIS & Remote Sensing Analysis

Utilizing GIS and remote sensing technologies to analyze spatial data related to water resources, land use, and environmental parameters.

Support in Development of River Basin Management Plan

Assisting in the formulation and development of strategic management plans for the sustainable use of river basin resources.
