Salary Structure and Pay Scale

The selected candidates will be offered attractive salary packages based on IDA pay scales, commensurate with their experience and position:

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree (BE/B. Tech) in one of the following disciplines:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical & Electronics Engineering

  • Power Electronics
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineering

The degree should be from a government-recognized institute or university approved by AICTE or UGC with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA/OGPA.

Desirable Qualifications

Candidates with a Postgraduate degree in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering will have an added advantage. Possession of specialized certification in Rolling Stock project management and experience in project handling will further strengthen the candidature.

Post-Qualification Experience Requirements

AGM (Rolling Stock) At least 4 years in planning, designing, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of rolling stock in Govt/PSU organizations. Applicants from Govt organizations, Metro Rail, Railway PSUs must have minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience and have worked in an analogous Grade Rs. 100000-260000 (IDA E7) or Rs. 90000-240000 (IDA E6) with at least 2 years in E6.
JGM (Rolling Stock) At least 4 years in relevant fields. Minimum 8 years of experience in Govt organizations or PSUs, working in Grade Rs. 90000-240000 (IDA E6) or Rs. 80000-220000 (IDA E5) with at least 2 years in E5.
DGM (Rolling Stock) At least 4 years in relevant fields. Minimum 6 years of experience in Govt organizations or PSUs, working in Grade Rs. 80000-220000 (IDA E5) or Rs. 70000-200000 (IDA E4) with at least 2 years in E4.

For private sector candidates or consultants, a minimum overall experience of 6 to 10 years in managerial positions overseeing planning, tendering, designing, testing, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of rolling stock, with a CTC of at least Rs. 180,000 per month, will be considered. Such candidates will be evaluated for positions as per their overall expertise and cumulative experience.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for all candidates is 50 years as on the closing date of application submission (28 February 2026). Age relaxation as per government norms may be applicable for reserved category candidates.
