Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications (Essential)

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in a relevant subject or any other professional degree earned after a minimum of four years of study, completed after the 10+2 level. This may include degrees such as M.Phil, M.S, LLM, or Ph.D, which will be considered an added advantage.

Retired officers are also eligible, regardless of their educational qualifications, if they retired as Development Officers, Industrial Advisors, or similar roles from the Technical Divisions of the Ministry or Departments with relevant experience. Such candidates will be considered based on the guidelines of the Department of Expenditure dated 9.12.2020.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with advanced qualifications, research experience, published papers, and additional post-qualification experience in relevant fields.

The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in sectors such as PSUs, government organizations, research institutions, manufacturing, heavy engineering, machine tools, or industries related to the job profile. Experience in government departments relevant to the position is highly preferred.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for applicants is 45 years. For retired government employees, age relaxation will be provided as per the Department of Expenditure guidelines (OM dated 9.12.2020).

Salary Structure and Pay Enhancements

The initial remuneration for the Consultant (Grade-I) will be Rs. 1,00,000/- per month. The annual increments or bonuses depend on the following conditions:

Selection Process

Terms and Conditions of Engagement

Contractual Details

Age and Extension Limits

Extensions are not permitted beyond the age of 65 years. The extension process will follow administrative guidelines issued on 27.08.2024.

Remuneration & Benefits

Remuneration will be fixed throughout the contract duration without any annual increment or increase. The pension benefits are calculated by deducting basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement.

Medical Clearance

Prior to appointment, selected candidates will need to submit a health certificate from a recognized physician. During the tenure, no medical benefits will be provided by the Ministry.

Travel and Reimbursement

Official travel expenses will be reimbursed as per policy, including:

  • Travel Mode: Air (Economy class) or Rail (AC Two Tier)
  • Hotel Accommodation: Up to Rs. 2250/- per day
  • Taxi Charges: Up to Rs. 338/- per day for local travel
  • Food Expenses: Up to Rs. 900/- per day

Other expenses will be reimbursed as per administrative guidelines issued on 27.08.2024.
