Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

Educational Qualifications (as on 01.01.2026):

Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination in 2026, 2025, 2024, or on or after 01.01.2023. Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduate Apprentices: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil, Electrical, or S&T Engineering from a recognized university or institute.
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Diploma or equivalent in Civil, Electrical, or S&T Engineering from a recognized Polytechnic or institute.

Additional Important Points

  • Result awaited/supplementary/back paper candidates are **not** eligible.
  • Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training in IRCON or any other organization are **not** eligible.
  • Candidates with more than one year of post-qualification training or employment are **not** eligible.
  • Fresh graduates/diploma holders with no prior apprenticeship are eligible.
  • A maximum gap of 3 years after passing the qualifying examination is allowed.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based purely on merit:

  • No written tests or interviews are scheduled.
  • Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on marks obtained in their educational qualifications.
  • Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates and testimonials for verification.
  • A medical fitness certificate is mandatory before final appointment.

  • Register on www.mhrdnats.gov.in as “Student” to obtain a unique registration number.
  • Apply online via IRCON’s official website.
  • Fill in all details accurately and upload scanned copies of necessary documents, including birth proof, educational certificates, community certificate (if applicable), identity proof, photograph, and signature.
  • After online submission, take a printout of the application form, sign it, and send it along with self-attested copies of all relevant documents to the specified address.
  • The last date for online application is 10th February 2026, and the hard copy should reach IRCON by 17th February 2026.
