Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Educational Qualifications

The candidate must possess a B.E./B.Tech degree in specified engineering disciplines from recognized universities/institutions, including IITs, NITs, and other deemed universities.

Final Year Students

Applicants in the final year of their Engineering degree may apply. They must submit proof of passing all exams and semester-wise marksheets by 01 October 2026. The original degree certificate must be produced within 12 weeks of training start date.

Career Progression and Service Tenure

Initial engagement is for 10 years, extendable based on performance and organizational needs. Promotion criteria are based on years of service and merit, with promotion to Captain after 2 years, Major after 6 years, and Lieutenant Colonel after 13 years.

Officers can opt for permanent commission in their 10th year, subject to eligibility and vacancies. Service extension beyond 10 years is possible by a further four years.

Selection Procedure

Step-wise Process

  5. Medical Examination: Recommended candidates undergo comprehensive medical check-ups. Validity of recommendation is 270 days.
  6. Merit List & Final Selection: Based on SSB marks and medical fitness, the merit list is published. Selection is subject to available vacancies and medical clearance.
  7. Joining: Selected candidates receive the joining letter for pre-commission training at PCTA, Gaya.
