Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

The candidate must possess a PhD degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Physics
  • Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
  • Biotechnology and Bioscience
  • Bio-medical Engineering
  • Photonics

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working on and publishing papers related to photonic, plasmonic, or nanostructured sensors/biosensors/SERS.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques applied within the relevant fields.
  • Proficiency in both theoretical and experimental aspects of the field.
  • Recent submission of thesis is acceptable, provided the candidate can furnish proof of the award at the time of interview.

Salary and Stipend

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly emolument of Rs. 56,000 along with applicable HRA and other allowances as per institute rules.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Project Research Scientist will contribute to the development of a novel photonic diagnostic system aimed at detecting viruses in stool samples, primarily focusing on Gastro-Intestinal infections. The key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and fabricating plasmonic sensor chips for SERS-based virus detection.
  • Implementing machine learning algorithms for data analysis and interpretation.
  • Conducting experiments to validate sensor performance in biological samples.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and documenting research findings.
