Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications and Experience
For Senior Research Assistant
The candidate must possess either:
- B. Tech, B.E., or AIME (or equivalent), OR
- Graduate Degree in an appropriate discipline or technical diploma combined with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
In exceptional cases, candidates with an ITI qualification and 11 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
For Research Associate III
The candidate should have:
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related fields, AND
- At least one SCI-indexed journal publication related to thermoplastic composites.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience

Job Responsibilities & Project Details
Position Details
This position is under the project titled “Development of Multi-agent Amphibious Quad-copter System,” sponsored by DRDO (DIA-IITJ), within the Mechanical Engineering Department. The appointment is for a tenure of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and prepare 3D models of various parts from given components, utilizing CAD software.
- Design molds for manufacturing and 3D print these molds for small component production through vacuum bagging techniques.
- Perform electrical tasks, including soldering, wiring, and connecting circuits, and assemble hardware components.
- Assist in drone maintenance, such as waterproofing electrical parts and replacing damaged components.
- Support in setting up testing facilities, preparing prototypes, and conducting physical tests.
- Maintain and ensure proper functioning of the test setup and related equipment.
Supervision and Collaboration
The selected candidate will work under the guidance of Principal Investigator Jayant Kumar Mohanta and collaborate closely with Research Assistants and Senior Research Fellows involved in the project.
