Eligibility Criteria

Age and Marital Status

The eligibility criteria are strictly defined to select suitable candidates who meet the following conditions:

  • 3-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, IT) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English in Diploma or in 10+2/Matric, OR
  • 2-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics, with 50% aggregate and 50% in English in Vocational or in 10+2/Matric.

Other than Science Subjects

  • 10+2/Intermediate in any stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English, OR

Sports Achievements

Candidates should have demonstrated excellent sporting talents through recognized achievements, including:

  • Represented India in Junior/Senior International competitions recognized by IOC/IOA in notified disciplines, OR
  • Secured minimum 5th place in Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals, All India Inter University, or Khelo India Nationals in listed sports, OR
  • Represented State/UT in National/All India Inter University/Khelo India in team events.

Note: Special conditions apply for sports like Cricket, Shooting, and Chess (e.g., BCCI trophies, NSCC rankings, FIDE rating ≥ 2150).

Medical & Physical Standards

Candidates must meet stringent physical standards, including:

  • Height: Minimum 152 cm
  • Chest: Minimum 77 cm with at least 5 cm expansion
  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
    • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes
    • 10 Push-ups
    • 10 Sit-ups
    • 20 Squats (within prescribed time)
  • Visual Standards: 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6, along with other medical standards as per IAF norms
