About MPSC
Maharashtra Public Service Commission (“MPSC” or “the Commission”) is an Autonomous Body constituted and set up under Article 315 of the Constitution of India to discharge the duties and functions as assigned under Article 320 of the Constitution. The Commission accordingly recommends suitable candidates for the various posts under the Government and advises Government on various service matters like formulation of recruitment rules, on promotions, transfers, and disciplinary proceedings, etc. This is the highest level of Group A service under the MPSK and the people recruited there become Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Collector, Assistant Collector, Subdivisional Magistrate, Chief Executive Officer and Assistant Director in each of the ministries of the Indian state of Maharashtra. The Commission is based in Mumbai, the capital. Maharashtra Public Services Commission is a body founded by the Indian Constitution under Article 315 to select the state’s groups A and B officials on merit and reservation rules.
