Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess a postgraduate medical degree in the concerned specialty, recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the relevant State Medical Council. Acceptable degrees include:

  • M.D. (Doctor of Medicine)
  • M.S. (Master of Surgery)
  • DNB (Diplomate of National Board)
  • M.Ch. (Magister Chirurgiae)
  • D.M. (Doctorate of Medicine)

Experience

Candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency are not eligible for the same post again. Prior senior residency experience, if any, should be counted accordingly, and candidates with less than three years of tenure are encouraged to apply.

Registration

Applicants must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or a State Medical Council. Registration certificates should be submitted with the application.

Salary and Age Limit

Application Fee

Applicants applying for multiple posts/departments are required to pay a single fee of Rs. 500/-. SC candidates are eligible for a reduced fee of Rs. 250/-. Fee payment is accepted on the spot at GMCH during the interview day.

  2. Fill the application form completely with accurate details.
  3. Prepare photocopies of all relevant documents, certificates, testimonials, and recent passport-sized photograph.
  4. Bring the filled application form, photocopies, original certificates, and the non-refundable fee of Rs. 500/- (or Rs. 250/- for SC candidates) in person for submission.
  5. The application and documents should be submitted in the Establishment Branch-II, Block-D, GMCH-32, Chandigarh, before 11:00 A.M. on 21/01/2026.

Walk-in Interview Schedule

The walk-in interview will be held on the same day, 21st January 2026, at 2:00 P.M. in the office of the Director Principal (Room No. 210), Level-2, Block-D, GMCH, Chandigarh.

Selection Procedure

The selection for all posts will be based solely on a walk-in interview conducted on the scheduled date and time. Candidates must appear in person and present all required documents for verification.

Important Notes and Guidelines

  • The number of vacancies is tentative and may be increased or decreased without prior notice.
  • Selected candidates from the walk-in interview need to apply again when the regular advertisement is issued for permanent appointment.
  • The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid on the spot during submission.
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Applications from foreign nationals are not accepted.
  • It is a tenure-based appointment initially for six months, extendable as per institutional requirements or until a regular incumbent is appointed.
