Selection Process

Stage 1: Written Examination

The written test will be an objective-type multiple-choice exam worth 120 marks. It will be conducted over 2 hours on OMR sheets, testing candidates in the following areas:

  • English Language
  • General Knowledge
  • General Aptitude
  • Reasoning
  • Assamese Language (qualifying segment; at least 8 of 20 marks)

Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer will be applied. Candidates must score at least 40% (8 marks) in Assamese language to qualify for the next stage.

Stage 2: Interview / Viva-Voce

Candidates will be called for the interview based on the merit list prepared from the written exam scores. The number of candidates called will be three times the vacancies (1:3 ratio). The interview will be held for 20 marks and candidates need to secure a minimum of 60% (12 marks) to qualify.

The final merit list will combine the written exam scores and interview marks. Preference will be given to candidates with higher written exam scores, and in case of a tie, the age of the candidate will be considered — older candidates will be given preference.
