Eligibility Criteria for Application
Educational Qualifications
The educational qualifications vary based on the level for which the candidate is applying.
Level-2 & Level-3 (GP Rs. 2000/- & GP Rs. 1900/-):
- Should have passed 12th (+2 stage) or an equivalent examination.
- Alternatively, a pass in Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board, with an ITI Certificate, may apply to be posted as Tech-III/Level-2 GP Rs. 1900/-.
- Completion of prescribed training as per Railway Board’s guidelines is mandatory for Matriculation pass candidates applying for Level-2 posts.
Level-1 (GP Rs. 1800/-):
- Must have passed 10th standard or possess an ITI or equivalent qualification.
- Candidates with National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT are also eligible.
No relaxation in educational qualification is permissible, and candidates must submit photocopies of their certificates during application and produce the original at the time of trials.
Sports Achievements
The applicant must be an active player with sports achievements attained on or after 01.04.2023. All sporting certificates submitted should have been achieved under recognized international, national, or state sports federations and be acknowledged by the Railway Sports Promotion Board.
Minimum Sports Norms for Level-2 and Level-3 (GP Rs. 1900 & Rs. 2000):
- Represented India at Category-B Championships/Events OR
- Secured at least 3rd position at Category-C Championships or National Championships OR
- Achieved at least 3rd position at National Games under Indian Olympic Association OR
- Secured 1st position at Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
Minimum Sports Norms for Level-1 (GP Rs. 1800):
- Represented India at Category-C Championships/Events OR
- At least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category) OR
- Represented a state or equivalent unit, with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships (excluding Marathon and Cross Country).
Note on International Championships:
- Category-A: Olympic Games (Senior)
- Category-B: World Cup, World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics, Davis Cup, Champions Trophy, Thomas/Uber Cup, World University Games.
- Category-C: Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships/Asia Cup, South Asian Federations Games, USIC Championships, etc.
Special provisions are available for medal-winning performances in national and international athletics championships, with higher pay grades (up to GP Rs. 2800).

Selection Procedure
The selection will be based on:
- Performance in sports trials conducted at designated venues and dates.
- Evaluation of sports achievements/document verification by a specially appointed Recruitment Committee.

Qualifying Marks & FIT Candidates
- Candidates scoring at least 65 marks (Level-2/3) or 60 marks (Level-1) will be considered FIT.
- Minimum marks in the physical and skill assessment during trials is 25.
- In case of a tie in marks, the younger candidate will be given preference.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- Applications must be submitted either online or by post in prescribed formats carefully filled in own handwriting with blue/black ink.
- Attach all relevant certificates, photographs, and identification documents.
- Application forms should be on A-4 size paper, filled either in English or Hindi, with a recent passport-size photograph affixed.
