Job Responsibilities

1. Hindi Officer

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Official Language Policy, Rajbhasha Act 1963, and related rules/orders within CSIR CDRI. Tasks may include translation, terminology work, policy implementation, and assisting in Hindi language promotion activities. The employee may also be assigned additional duties by superiors.

2. Multi Tasking Staff

The MTS will perform a variety of non-technical support duties including:

  • Office Upkeep and Assistance: Maintaining records, arranging furniture/equipment, general cleaning, opening/closing office.
  • File Management: Filing, document transfer, photocopying, scanning, faxing.
  • Correspondence Handling: Sorting incoming/outgoing mail, dispatch of parcels or official documents.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operating basic office machines such as photocopiers, assisting with equipment or stationery management.
  • Support to Staff: Serving water/tea, assisting during meetings or workshops, helping senior staff with his/her daily tasks.

Selection Process

1. Hindi Officer

The selection will comprise:

  1. Written Examination (Objective, 300 marks, 2 hours, Hindi medium, negative marking 1/3 for wrong answers)
  2. Interview (100 marks)

Weightage: 75% for written exam, 25% for interview.

The top 12 unreserved candidates (minimum 50% in the written exam) will be called for an interview at Lucknow.

Syllabus includes: Official language policies, constitutional provisions, Rajbhasha policies, Hindi literature/history, grammar, translation (Hindi↔English), IT tools in Hindi, e-Governance, general Hindi knowledge.

2. Multi Tasking Staff

The selection involves:

  1. Trade Test (qualifying, as per post requirements)
  2. Written Examination (Objective, 150 questions, 2 hours, bilingual except English)

The written exam details:

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 25 questions (75 marks)
  • Numerical Aptitude: 25 questions (75 marks)
  • General Awareness: 50 questions (150 marks)
  • English Language: 50 questions (150 marks)
