Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized and reputed institution or university. The qualification must be completed and recognized by relevant authorities.

Work Experience

  • Senior Advisor (Law): Minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience working in the Power Sector, Judicial bodies, Regulatory or Quasi-Judicial bodies dealing with legal matters.
  • Advisor (Law): Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in similar domains.

Selection Process

Overview

The selection process involves evaluation by a Consultancy Evaluation Committee (CEC), set up by the Commission, based on criteria aligned with the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Appointment of Consultants) Regulations, 2008, with subsequent amendments.

Selection Steps

General Information and Instructions

Work Hours and Leave Policy

The normal working hours are from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, including a half-hour lunch break. Weekend and holiday work may be required in exigencies.

Qualified candidates will be entitled to fifteen (15) days of leave annually, credited quarterly, and not carried forward or encashed. Leave beyond 15 days without prior approval may lead to termination of services.

For medical leave, proper certificates must be provided, and leave beyond the allotted days without approval is not paid.

Travel and Reimbursements

Official travel within India will be reimbursed as follows:

  • Economy class for air travel
  • AC-II tier for train journeys
  • Non-AC taxis for local transportation

Performance-Based Variable Pay

Eligible consultants may receive a performance-related variable pay of up to 40% of their monthly fee, based on achieving predefined targets set by the Commission.

Contract Duration and Termination

The initial contract period is two years, with possible extensions up to a total of four years, one year at a time. The Contract can be terminated by either party with a three-month prior notice or equivalent compensation.
