Qualifications

Candidates must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board/institution. Additionally, the following qualifications are considered equivalent for this post:

  • Maulvi Certificate

Selection Process

Overview

The selection involves two main stages: a written examination followed by a practical test (skill test).

A. Written Examination

The written exam will be objective, consisting of one paper covering the following subjects:

Total questions: 150. Each correct answer awards 4 marks, while each wrong answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 15 minutes. Note: Minimum qualifying marks vary across categories based on government resolutions, ranging from 32% to 40%. Candidates must secure the respective minimum to qualify.

B. Practical (Skill) Test

The practical test includes:

  1. Shorthand Test: Candidates must transcribe 320 words (80 words per minute) in Hindi and English within 4 minutes, with additional time allocated for correction and typing.
  2. Typing Test: Candidates will type 300 words in Hindi (using Mangal font on Remington Gail Keyboard Layout) and English (using UTF-8 US Keyboard Layout), each in 10 minutes at a speed of 30 words per minute.
  3. Evaluation: Errors should not exceed 10% for shorthand and 1.5% for typing to qualify.

Merit List and Result Preparation

The final merit list will be compiled by combining the marks obtained in the written exam and the preference marks obtained through contract employment. In case of a tie:
