Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Applicants must possess the following academic qualifications based on the post applied for:

  • Assistant Professor (Clinical and Non-Clinical): PG Degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the concerned specialty from institutions recognized by MCI/NMC.
  • Assistant Professor (Super Specialty): PG Degree (DNB/DrNB/DM/MCh) in the concerned super specialty from recognized institutions by MCI/NMC.
  • Qualification should be obtained as on the notification date (01/01/2026).

Additional Requirements

  • One year Senior Residency from recognized institutions is mandatory for Clinical and Non-Clinical posts after PG completion.
  • Senior Residency is not required for super specialty posts.
  • Candidates with DNB from non-recognized institutions must complete an additional year of Senior Residency.
  • AP Medical Council Registration is mandatory.
  • Applicants must be local residents of Andhra Pradesh or meet specific migration criteria.

Desirable Qualities

  • Experience as Assistant Professor under the Director of Medical Education is discouraged for eligibility.
  • No weightage for contract or temporary service prior to PG qualification unless specified.

Experience

Minimum one year Senior Residency post PG qualification in recognized institutions is required for Clinical and Non-Clinical posts. Contract service experience may be considered for weightage as per rules.
