Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess qualifications as per the Medical Council of India (MCI) norms relevant to their respective specializations. The essential educational requirements include postgraduate degrees (MD/MS/MCh or equivalent) in the relevant specialty and registration with the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for applicants is 65 years as of 20th January 2026. Age relaxation is not specified but applicants should verify criteria based on their category or special considerations.

Other Eligibility Conditions

Selection Process

Terms and Conditions of Service

The appointment is purely contractual, initially for one year or until a regular incumbent is available, whichever occurs first. It may be terminated by either party with a one-month notice or equivalent salary. The contract is non-permanent, and the appointee will not be entitled to government benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, or Gratuity. Conditions include:

  • The appointee shall perform assigned duties; no additional duties without compensation.
  • No private practice or engagement in any private employment is permitted during the contract.
  • The appointment is contingent upon medical fitness verified by the designated Medical Board.
  • The appointee will work in any part of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as required.
  • Any misrepresentation or false declaration will lead to removal and legal action.
