Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

The candidate must possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.

Experience Requirements

The Internal Ombudsman (IO) should be either a retired or a serving officer with at least seven years of relevant experience. The candidate should have held a position at the rank equivalent to a General Manager within the Regulated Entity of the Reserve Bank (RE), or a Financial Sector Regulatory Body. The experience should encompass areas such as banking, non-banking finance, regulation, supervision, payment systems, settlement systems, credit information, or consumer protection.

Important conditions include:

  • If the candidate is currently a serving officer, he/she must relinquish the post before assuming the IO role.
  • The candidate should not have been previously employed by Indian Bank, Allahabad Bank, or any of their subsidiaries, affiliates, or holding companies.
