Eligibility Criteria for AIIMS Group A Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualifications
General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO)
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Candidate must also have completed a compulsory rotating internship.
Educational Media Generalist
Master’s Degree in Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences, Education, Health Education, or Communication. Additionally, 6 years of media production experience is required. PhD is preferred.
Research Officer
Qualification options include MBBS, B.V.Sc, B.Pharm, Pharm.D, MSc in Medical or Life Sciences streams, or BE/BTech in Biomedical, Pharma, or Biotech disciplines. A minimum of 3 years relevant biopharma industry experience is necessary.
Veterinary Assistant Surgeon
Recognized Veterinary Degree with registration from the State or Indian Veterinary Council. Knowledge of CCSEA norms is preferred.

Selection Process for AIIMS Group A Posts
Stage I – Computer-Based Test (CBT)
The initial screening involves an online written test comprising 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The test covers:
- 160 questions from domain-specific knowledge
- 40 questions on General English, Aptitude, and Awareness
Negative marking of 1/3 marks applies for each incorrect answer.
Stage II – Document Eligibility Screening
Applicants will undergo document verification, with 5 candidates shortlisted per available seat based on their performance.
Stage III – Descriptive Written Test (DWT)
