Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must possess the following qualifications relevant to their designated positions:

  • Specialists & Super Specialists: MBBS with PG Diploma / PG Degree / DNB in the respective specialty; DM / MCh / DNB (Super Specialty) for Super Specialists.
  • GDMO: MBBS from a recognized university or institute.
  • GDMO-OHS: MBBS with Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Fellowship in Industrial Health.

Registration & Licensing

All candidates must be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), or State Medical Council (SMC). They should possess a valid medical Practitioner license and be enrolled in the respective State or National Register.

Post Qualification Work Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with relevant post-qualification work experience in their respective medical disciplines. This experience should be clearly documented and verifiable.

Nationality & Other Requirements

Applicants must be Indian citizens possessing the requisite educational qualifications from institutes recognized by the MCI/NMC/SMC. Only those with valid registration and license are eligible to apply.

Exclusion Criterion

Ex-employees of SAIL and individuals who have been separated through Voluntary Retirement are not eligible to apply. Applicants must submit a self-declaration if they have previously been employed and separated accordingly.

Salary & Remuneration

The monthly consolidated remuneration will be as follows, subject to the specified working hours:

The stipulated rate is for a minimum of 8 hours a day, six days a week, totaling 48 hours weekly. For engagement durations of less than 8 hours, the remuneration will be pro-rated. No additional claims will be entertained for extra hours worked beyond the normal schedule.

Age Limit & Age of Engagement

The maximum age for applying and engaging is 69 years as of 20/01/2026, with a maximum engagement tenure of 3 years, extendable at the company’s discretion. The individual must be medically fit to perform duties.

Selection Process

Selection will be carried out through a walk-in interview based on eligibility and merit. Key points include:

  • Reporting Time: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM; registration closes at 10:00 AM.
  • Interview Start: 10:00 AM onwards.

Terms and Conditions of Engagement

Tenure & Contractual Terms

The initial engagement period is one year, which can be extended for up to a total of three years based on performance and requirement. Re-engagement after the initial tenure is permissible.

Work Hours & Leaves

  • Minimum 8 hours per day, six days a week or 48 hours weekly. Work beyond scheduled hours may be required in emergent situations.
  • Eligible for 10 days of leave annually, subject to prior approval.
  • Maternity leave benefits are as per the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961.

Additional Benefits & Facilities

Category Qualification & Certificate Requirements

  • OBC candidates must produce a current-year OBC (non-creamy layer) certificate issued between 01/04/2025 and 31/03/2026.
  • EWS candidates are required to submit income certificates from FY 2024-2025 issued on or after 01/04/2025.
  • SC/ST candidates must submit caste certificates in prescribed format.
  • All certificates should be issued by authorized authorities and in the specified format suitable for government posts.
