Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

Nationality:

The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification:

The candidate should hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification approved by the central government.

Academic Passing Timeline:

The degree must have been obtained between 1st April 2021 and 1st December 2025.

Experience Requirements:

Candidates who have completed training or worked for one year or more after earning their graduation are NOT eligible to apply.

Registration Process:

Registered candidates must enroll on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal at https://nats.education.gov.in. This registration is mandatory for application submission.

Prior Apprenticeship Experience:

Candidates must not have completed any apprenticeship with BOI or any other organization previously.

Physical Fitness:

Applicants must be medically fit. They need to produce a fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner (minimum MBBS qualification). The engagement is subject to health clearance as per bank requirements.

Selection Process

Stage 1: Online Written Test

The initial selection will be based on an online examination comprising 100 questions for 100 marks, with a duration of 90 minutes.

  • Test Components:
    • General / Financial Awareness – 25 questions, 25 marks
    • English Language – 25 questions, 25 marks (qualifying in nature)
    • Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude – 25 questions, 25 marks
    • Computer Knowledge – 25 questions, 25 marks
  • Language: All sections except English will be available in bilingual format (English and Hindi).
  • Qualifying Marks: The cut-off will be decided by BOI, with relaxation of 5% for reserved categories.

Stage 2: Local Language Test

Candidates who clear the online test will be required to demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the respective state. Exceptions are made for candidates who can produce 10th or 12th standard certificates showing studies in the local language.

Final Merit List & Tie Breaker

The final selection will be based on the combined score of the online written test (and language test if applicable), organized state-wise and category-wise in descending order of marks. In case of a tie, the elder candidate (based on date of birth) will be given preference.

Document & Medical Verification

Selected candidates will be called for document verification, where they must produce original certificates along with self-attested copies. Additionally, candidates must be declared medically fit by a competent medical authority, providing a fitness certificate.

General Instructions & Important Notes

  • Candidates can apply for only one state and one zone within that state.
  • The number of vacancies is provisional and may vary based on the Bank’s requirements.
  • The engagement is purely training-based, without any guarantee of permanent employment nor linkage to absorption in the Bank.
  • Engaged apprentices will be termed only as “Trainees,” with no right or claim for employment at any stage.
  • The apprenticeship period is for one year and does not confer any lien or rights for ongoing employment.
  • Apprentices must not be ex-servicemen or disabled ex-servicemen, as they are not eligible for this apprenticeship category.
  • During training, apprentices may not organize or participate in union activities.
  • Successful candidates will receive a proficiency certificate upon completion from the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT).
  • The Bank reserves the right to cancel or modify engagement without prior notice, in case of misconduct or non-compliance.
  • Once registered, modifications to category or personal details are not permitted.
