Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications
Applicants must meet specific educational and experience requirements tailored to each position. The details are as follows:
1. Team Leader (VC No. YP24-R125)
Educational Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering plus Masters in any discipline, preferably Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Health Engineering.
Experience Required: Minimum of 20 years in civil engineering, environmental, or public health sectors, with significant project management experience in urban service delivery including water supply, sewerage, or drainage projects, totaling over Rs. 1000 crore capital value.
- At least two projects led as Team Leader
- Experience monitoring civil works and proficiency in WaterGEMS software
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role in relevant projects
2. Structure Engineer (VC No. YP25-R125)
Educational Qualification: Graduate in Civil Engineering with a Master’s in Structural Engineering.
Experience Required: 20 years in civil and structural engineering, with a minimum of 10 years in structure design and project review (proof checking) of WTPs, STPs, ESRs, GSRs, water supply, and sewerage components.
3. Senior Quality cum Material Engineer (VC No. YP26-R125)
Educational Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering. Post-Graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Health Engineering is preferable. In case of PG Degree, one subject must be Environmental or Public Health Engineering or an equivalent.
Experience Required:
- 15 years total post-qualification experience in civil or environmental engineering sectors
- At least 10 years in quality control (QA/QC) within water or sewerage projects
- Experience leading or handling minimum five similar projects worth Rs. 500 crore+
- Familiarity with establishing QA programs in STP/DUGD projects

Payment is processed within one week after month-end, based on attendance and verified services. It is important to note that the engagement is contractual and does not entitle the individual to statutory benefits such as PF, ESI, or Gratuity. Selection Procedure
The selection process involves:

Contractual & Legal Terms
Contract Nature & Employment Status
The engagement is on a contractual basis as an Independent Consultant. The individual shall not be treated as a RITES employee, and no statutory benefits will be conferred. The contract can be terminated unilaterally by RITES with a notice period of one month, or by the individual upon giving one month’s notice.
Standards of Conduct & Confidentiality
Consultants are expected to abide by ethical standards, maintain confidentiality, and comply with applicable laws, including the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923. Any breach may lead to contract termination.
Intellectual Property & Proprietary Rights
All data, reports, maps, drawings, and intellectual property developed during the engagement are the sole property of RITES. Equipment provided by RITES must be returned at the conclusion of the contract.
Insurance & Medical Fitness
Consultants must have adequate insurance coverage. Medical fitness certification may be required prior to starting the assignment.
Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
Any disputes shall be amicably settled; failing which, arbitration will be conducted under the Chairmanship of RITES’ CMD. Proceedings are governed by Indian arbitration laws.
Conflict of Interest & Ethical Conduct
Consultants must avoid conflicts of interest and adhere strictly to RITES’ code of conduct during the engagement period.
Additional Conditions
- Engagement duration is initially for a specified period, renewable based on performance and project needs, with a maximum age limit of 65 years.
- Retired government officials can be engaged only as per applicable rules, through a competitive process, and not on a regular employment basis.
- Consultants engaged are required to work full-time and are prohibited from taking other assignments.
