Essential Qualifications

The candidate must possess a postgraduate degree (MD/DNB) in one of the following specialties:

  • General Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • General Pediatrics

Citizenship

The applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Application Process & Documentation

How to Apply

  1. Download the application form from www.igims.org.
  2. Fill out the application form with accurate details.
  3. Attach the demand draft of applicable application fee (Rs. 1000/- for UR/EWS/BC or Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/EBC).
  4. Prepare copies of supporting documents, including:
    • Age proof
    • Educational qualification certificates
    • Caste and reservation certificates (if applicable)
    • Any additional relevant documents
  5. Carry original certificates for verification during interview.
  6. Report to the State Cancer Institute, IGIMS, Patna at the designated date and time (by 12:00 Noon) for the interview process.

Important Instructions

Candidates must arrive at the venue by the reporting time for verification at Room No. 78. The interview will be conducted in the Chief’s Chamber of the same institute. No TA/DA will be provided for the walk-in interview. The appointment is on an ad-hoc basis initially, with tenure for 89 days or until the full-time recruitment process (3-year tenure) is completed. Stay in campus accommodation is mandatory; HRA is payable if no hostel room or residence is allotted. Private practice is strictly prohibited during the tenure.

Total marks: 100. Candidates will be evaluated based on this marking scheme, and merit will be the basis for selection.

Additional Important Information

  • Reservation benefits are applicable only to Bihar State domiciles.
  • Physically handicapped candidates are entitled to reservation benefits as per Government of Bihar rules.
  • The final appointment is subject to verification of all documents and eligibility.
  • Canvassing of any kind will lead to disqualification.
  • For employed candidates in government or semi-government sectors, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer is mandatory.
  • Candidates must attach caste certificates issued by the Circle Officer of their district or relevant authority for SC/ST reservations.
  • For EBC/MBC candidates, a caste certificate and an exemption certificate from the creamy layer are required.
  • Should there be any discrepancy or false information, the candidature will be canceled immediately.
