WB Krishak Bandhu Prakalpo

Govt. of West Bengal, Department Of Agriculture has introduced a unique Assured Financial Assistance to all Farmers and farm household families of West Bengal under a single benefit scheme, “Krishak Bandhu”. It’s a single digitized card-based identity of all farmers of West Bengal. Farmer’s personalized authenticated DOA specified database captured digitally, stored in Krishak Bandhu cloud, analyzed and digitally verified with L&LR database synchronization by DOA officers. This system verified authenticated data shared with State & District Co-Operative Banks by DOA for direct benefit disbursement. Personalized “Krishak Bandhu” digital Smart Card will be given to farmers to authenticate beneficiaries, for all further Govt assistance in the future.

Benefits & Feature

• The direct benefit under the scheme includes financial assistance for cultivation purposes up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000 /- per annum and a minimum of Rs. 4,000/- per annum receivable in the Kharif and Rabi seasons of each year.
• Farmers with 1 or more Acre of cultivable land are entitled to Rs. 10,000/- per annum.
• Farmers with cultivable landholding of less than 1 Acre will get assistance on a pro-rata basis subject to a minimum of Rs. 4,000/- assistance with a minimum of Rs. 2,000/- per annum assistance pro-rata basis.
• Under the “Krishak Bandhu Death Benefit” Scheme in case of death of a farmer between the age of 18 to 60 years, the farm family will be eligible for a one-time lump sum grant of Rs. 2 lakh to ensure social security.
• Farmers registered in the “Krishak Bandhu” scheme get preference in the State Government’s paddy procurement scheme. The Government is planning to extend the facilitation to other schemes as well.

• Only Farmers can Apply for WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme.

Components Of The WB Krishak Bandhu Scheme

There are two components of the West Bengal Krishak Bandhu scheme for the year 2020 as mentioned below:-

Assured Income- Under the assured income, financial assistance will be provided to all of the farmers and the beneficiaries who will be selected in the scheme. The scheme has two more options given below:-

• Farmers with one or more acre landholdings are entitled to get Rs. 5,000/- p.a for both Rabi & Kharif Seasons.
  1st installment will be provided in the month of June.
  2nd installment will be provided in the month of November.

• Also, farmers would be given minimum assistance of Rs. 2,000/- per annum on a pro-rata basis.

Death Benefit- Under the death benefit scheme, the families of the farmers would be provided with Rs. 2 lakh including suicide. All the farmers whose age is in between 18 to 60 years can avail of new insurance policy benefits.
